Senior Structural Engineer/Associate/Director

Do you live within commuting distance of Hitchin? Do you have your own car?
Would you like to be a no. 2 to the Director and become involved in the running of this successful business and be part of their future succession plan?
The firm is a well established structural design consultancy, with 2 business streams, one designing buildings structures and the other working on multi million pound industrial projects normally involving power stations, often overseas.
This role will be based on the mainstream buildings structures side but involved in the whole business as well. You need to be an ambitious hands on structural design engineer.
You will never be bored! Projects are on average up to around £8m in value, but can go up to £20m. The work is very varied and includes portal frames, retail projects, warehouses, work in the defence sector, work for the blue light sector, work for D&B firms, residential projects, work for architects and housing developers, work on civil/structures such as reservoirs and retaining walls.
The business has less than 10 staff and are a very busy, down to earth, and close knit team of engineers. You should be happy to fit in to this environment and be keen to work in such a varied role.
Ideally you will be Chartered CEng. Own car is essential as offices are not near public transport.
A future Directorship could be available for the right candidate so candidates who aspire to this in the would be ideal.
In addition to basic salary there is free parking, 20 days holiday + 3 days at xmas + birthday leave (increases further with length of service), Monthly office luncheons, Health insurance and Pension scheme.
