An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal or Associate level Civil Engineer to join a well-respected multi-disciplinary Consultancy working in Bristol.

Ideally, they would be looking at an Associate Level engineer, however senior support is needed for the Director and so any experienced Principal engineer would be suitable- and a Principal Engineer who is wishing to step into an associate level role might find this vacancy particularly of interest.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil Engineering and hold a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and have a good understanding of appropriate software packages including CAD, PDS or Civil3D and MicroDrainage / FLOW. Candidates must not only be able to take control of their own work, but also be confident enough to brief and supervise a team of Engineers and CAD Technicians.

The role requires you to pre-purchase feasibility studies and resolution of planning conditions including drainage feasibility and highways considerations. Design detailed drawings and calculations to technical approval for adoptable highways and drainage to Building Control, NHBC, S278, S38, S104, etc. Prepare 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill exercises, vertical road profiles, etc. Additionally, liaise with clients and external agencies i.e. Environment Agency, Local Highway Authorities, Water Authorities, etc.

You will manage the team and control the programmed performance of projects. Support the training and professional development of team members. Build relationships and support the local Director in bringing in new work.
