Procurement Engineer - Construction
Location - Sandwich, Kent
Salary - £45,000 to £60,000 per annum

Do you have previous experience in procurement within the construction industry?
Can you produce tenders, manage supplier performance and reduce costs without compromising quality?
We have an amazing opportunity in Sandwich for a Procurement Engineer to work for one of our clients. In this role, you will be working full-time.
Responsibilities
* Develop a detailed knowledge of the equipment, systems, and components used
* Develop specifications in consultation with the Operations and Engineering teams
* Develop, lead, and implement business cost reduction strategies through sourcing to improve cost position without sacrificing quality
* Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements
* Challenge existing suppliers to recommend more cost-effective and/or more reliable products. Assist in the evaluation and coordination of these recommendations
* Perform technical and quality reviews of a wide array of engineering and technical products
* Develop sourcing procedures and implement this company-wide
* Participate in industry forums and trade association meetings to stay abreast of technological and other developments in assigned technical areas
* Provide presentations and information to senior management on a regular basis to communicate the status and performance
* Monitor and document supplier performance
* Prepare cost options for different project scenarios
* Other duties as deemed reasonable
Skills and Experience
* Must be able to apply sound engineering judgment and professional rigour in the performance of all analyses
* Strong interpersonal skills
* PC skills including MS Office, familiarity with Autocad/Revit is a plus
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience
* A background in HVAC or automation is a plus
