Attention all Associate Civil Engineers! Are you ready for a new challenge that promises diversity and excitement? Look no further, because our client is seeking a driven individual to join their team of experts. As an Associate Civil Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning commercial, retail, leisure and residential developments. From high-rise buildings to prestigious landmarks. Not only will you be managing a team of engineers and CAD technicians, but you will also be expected to contribute to the overall growth and success of the group. Confidence is key in this role, as you will need to brief and supervise your team whilst also taking control of your own workload.

Main Duties:

Pre-purchase feasibility studies and resolution of planning conditions including drainage feasibility and highways considerations.

Flood Risk Assessments

Liaise with clients and external agencies e.g., Water Authorities, Local Highway Authorities and Environment Agency

Detailed drawings and calculations to technical approval for adoptable highways and drainage to Building Control, NHBC, S278, S38, S104, etc.

Preparation of 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill exercises, vertical road profiles, etc.

Represent the group at meetings, public exhibitions, planning committees and public enquiries when required, and undertake site inspections.

Manage the team and control the programmed performance of projects.

Support the training and professional development of team members.

Exercise due care and diligence in all aspects of engineering design and detailing.

Support business development by delivering an exceptional service to clients, building relationships, and supporting the local Director in bringing in new work.

Education/Work Experience:

Candidates must have relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, whilst possessing suitable previous experience within an equivalent Civil Engineering Consultancy, working to UK standards

Technical Skills:

Working experience of FRAs, Suds and Pre-Planning Advice.

Working experience of drainage and highway design and detailing to S38, S278 and S104 agreements.

Working experience of MicroDrainage WinDES

Use of AutoCAD/Autodesk Civil 3D preferred but not essential.

Working appreciation of highway and general structures.

Use of Microsoft Office software packages i.e. Excel, Word, etc.
