Introduction
Astute are proud to be working with a leading Developer within the Renewable Energy industry, who are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team based out of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will support Civil Engineering projects for Windfarm, Solar Farm and other renewable energy developments across the UK, and some overseas plans too. Works will include design of supporting infrastructure including platforms, foundations, roads/access, drainage, substations/power buildings and more.

The successful candidate will have a proven background in the design, coordination, and delivery of construction projects, ideally for renewable energy projects such as in the wind or solar farms, hydro or other plant projects.

Roles & Responsibilities
As the Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Manage and lead the design process of civil engineering for renewable energy developments such as wind or solar farms, battery storage or other plant projects. From initial concepts, through to construction, on allocated projects in accordance with the business directives.
Provide technical support and expert insight of civil engineering areas - structures, roads and infrastructure through development, contracting and construction phases.
Producing engineering drawings and modelling to progress projects through respective stages.
Assess and resolve technical issues that arise through the design phase.
Manage the development to minimise all costs and ensure compliance deadlines are met to the required high standard.
Support other internal teams, assisting the project managers in estimations and providing technical insight and knowledge. Work with and support external stakeholders where required.

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
5-8 years of civil engineering experience is essential for this role.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in wind or solar farm construction projects.
Proficient in the use of design software packages such as Autodesk Civils 3D, AutoCAD, TEKLA or other similar CAD and modelling packages.
Awareness to UK standards and design codes.
Chartership or membership with the Institute of Civil Engineering is desirable and not essential.
Based in a commutable distance of Edinburgh.
Travel is likely in this role so a valid Driving Licence will be essential.

Salary & Package
