Are you ready to take your technical leadership skills to the next level? Jacobs are looking for a Senior Associate or a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic Ground Engineering team in Auckland, New Zealand.

As our new Geotechnical Engineering expert, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our Ground Engineering team. Reporting to the Section Lead - Ground Engineering, you'll bring your extensive engineering design and management expertise to bear on a wide range of Transport infrastructure projects across the ANZ region.

But that's not all - as a key member of our team, you'll also have the opportunity to mentor and guide the development of our geotechnical team, promoting knowledge sharing and technical excellence in Geotechnical Engineering. Plus, you'll have the chance to manage bid processes, win new business, and coach and develop both new and existing team members.

Here's What You'll Need:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field: We're looking for someone who has the academic qualifications to back up their experience in geotechnical investigation and design.
  • Extensive experience in varied geotechnical projects: You'll need to have experience in a variety of areas, including tunnelling, slope risk assessment, and dam engineering. You should also be familiar with earthworks, foundations, retention systems, slope stability, geological modelling, material parameter development, consolidation, and settlement.
  • Independent design review and approval skills: You'll be able to confidently review and approve geotechnical designs and documentation completed by others, ensuring they meet relevant guidelines and codes of practice.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills: With proven experience in planning, coordinating, and supervising geotechnical investigations and technical reporting, you'll be able to hit the ground running and take charge of your own projects.
  • Transport and infrastructure design experience: Your strong knowledge of geotechnical design and experience delivering geotechnical designs for both transport and general infrastructure projects will be a key asset in this role.
