The Role
This role sits within our Corporates team which works with companies across all industries including manufacturers and distributors with energy intensive processes, and retailers with extensive supply chains.

Our Deliver for zero service acts on clients' net zero strategic aspirations, breaking them down into implementable carbon/energy action plans and projects. You work directly with clients to turn their aims into a reality through site audits, monitoring and proposing short-term data solutions to optimise efficiency.

As an Energy Engineer / Consultant, you deliver a range of profitable energy, water and carbon management consultancy services to Verco's corporate clients with a focus on manufacturing and industrial. These services include primarily supporting the implementation of Verco's data and software solutions such as Reduct and Carbon Desktop™ but also assistance in onsite deep dive assessments, development of net zero pathways and group programme support.

You give particular focus to developing successful metering and monitoring projects to support the delivery of value-adding services to our clients and significantly contribute to our clients' plans in delivering Net zero.

Project Management: You manage a range of energy and water reduction projects concurrently, ensuring the successful delivery to the client on time, to quality and within an agreed budget.

Technical input: You provide technical input to projects, supporting the delivery of energy and water mapping and reduction audits at manufacturing sites with particular focus in the food and drink sector. You work with our client sites to develop metering and data collection strategies and solutions that are supported by Verco's proprietary software.

Business development and proposal writing: You develop business by either increasing the value of existing accounts or by supporting more senior members of the team in targeted business development activities such as writing proposals and/or delivering technical webinars.

Client management: You maintain strong relationships with existing clients and build lasting relationships with new clients with the expectation of maintaining and, where possible, increasing revenues from key accounts.

Operational: You provide timely responses to operational needs including (but not limited to) invoicing, reviews, project management information, time-sheeting, health & safety, etc. You are also expected to participate in knowledge sharing activities.

Environmental: contributing to Verco's sustainability targets and internal CSR team objectives when required.

Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a relevant field

Working towards Chartered status
Employment Experience
- in energy use in industrial and manufacturing settings

- with metering and monitoring systems (software and hardware)

- in building strong stakeholder relationships

Commercial experience in formulating business proposals and support of junior staff to do the same

Managing complex or multi-client projects

Key account management and new business development

Managing bids and delivering proposals to deadlines

Leading and facilitating workshops/seminars

Sound technical knowledge of energy use in industrial and manufacturing including energy use in industrial systems (refrigeration, compressed air, boilers and steam systems)

Knowledge of:

- electrical infrastructure & systems

- measurement and verification

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 with regard to productivity including; SharePoint and PowerApp

Advanced Excel skills

Good planning and organisation skills; ability to work to deadlines and within guidelines.

A strong attention to detail.

Analytical mind / problem-solving aptitude

Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and others across wide range of disciplines/countries.

Willing to work as part of a team to achieve common goals.

Strong communicator, both verbal and in writing

Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI

Language skills in particular German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese
