We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer, either Chartered or near Chartered, to join a civil engineering team based in Manchester. The studio is located near the vibrant Northern Quarter in Manchester, with convenient access to rail and tram links. The role involves working on infrastructure designs for building and public realm projects, focusing on roads and drainage.

The civil engineering team in Manchester collaborates on challenging and high-profile projects with internal and external architects, engineers, and designers across the North. These projects include civil engineering designs for building developments, public realm projects, highway infrastructure, and flood risk management, covering the entire project lifecycle from masterplanning to on-site delivery.

Responsibilities:

Designing projects from concept to construction stage
Preparing and reviewing technical reports and specifications
Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and CDM Regulations
Assisting in the management and development of team members
Building and nurturing client relationships
Developing strong professional relationships with internal and external consultantsRequirements:

Proven experience in a similar design consultancy, with expertise in infrastructure design, particularly in drainage and public realm
In-depth knowledge of sustainable drainage design and proficiency in various civil engineering software
Familiarity with drainage schemes for buildings, highways, public realm, and landscape projects
Experience in highway and pavement design for building projects
Ability to undertake designs for section 38, 278, and 104 agreements
Competence in ground modelling, masterplanning, and flood risk assessment and management
Solid understanding of civil engineering standards, design regulations, and legislation
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, and Civil 3D for ground modelling, road, and drainage designDesirable:

Experience in BIM and on-site work
