We are currently working with a multi-award-winning engineering consultancy seeking to recruit a Principal Civil Engineer to join their Highways Design team based in Leeds. The Principal Civil Engineer will take lead on major highway and transportation projects by providing technical guidance to project teams while implementing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background to support the detailed design of levels, drainage and external works in both the public and private realm.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing highway and transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Managing and supervising other technical teams.
Overseeing the design of highways, drainage, and external works along with other infrastructure projects.
Preparing project proposals and reports, maintaining effective communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Undertaking site visits, surveys, and inspections, preparing follow up reports.
Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Ideally you will be nearing chartered engineer status (CENG, MICE).
Vastly experienced in highway and transportation engineering, with experience leading and managing projects and teams.
Strong technical skills and proficiency in design software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads, PDS or similar.
Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations, with a focus on ensuring safe and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
A ‘self-starter' with drive, positivity and enthusiasm and a strong desire to succeed.
