The Background

We are recruiting for an Environmental Test Engineer to join a pioneering Aerospace organisation on a contract basis. In this role you will undertake a full range of environmental test activities with the primary focus to configure, instrument and undertake test operations on space equipment. Please note due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to obtain BPSS+ clearance before starting.

The Role

As an Environmental Test Engineer you will design and manufacture bespoke test setups and tooling. You will perform operations test preparation tasks and once the testing is complete, you will review and analyse the data. Once testing is complete and the data has been collated you will take ownership of producing local documentation (LDS), test certificates and reports. Throughout the role you will liaise with both internal stakeholders and customers and suppliers.

To be a successful Environmental Test Engineer you will have:

• Previous experience in a similar role in Test Engineering, preferably within the aerospace sector
• The ability to understand and use both mechanical and electrical formulae (resistances, currents, power values, bending moments, etc)
• A good understanding of technical documents such as drawings and test certificates
