The role:We require a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer from a rail or bridges background to join the regional C&S Team. You will be undertaking engineering designs across a variety of projects which will hail from the company's core disciplines listed above. As your experience develops you can expect to involved in mentoring and guiding junior engineers through their early career journey, thus benefiting your own opportunities for progression. Full training and opportunities for continued professional development will be provided, this business has a impressively low staff turnover and this is largely down to the investment they make into their team. You'll be joining a relaxed and welcoming team at a senior or principal level. Responsibilities include;
- Working with a talented team of engineers and technicians with the opportunity to mentor junior staff
- Producing and checking civil and structural designs which will include both digital and hand calculations
- Inspections, surveys and assessments of structures as well as reports
- Taking the lead on projects across buildings, rail, bridges and complex temporary works
- Managing and preparing project programmes, workload and resources
- Liaising with clients, contractors and other design teams throughout the process
- A relevant degree in civil or structural engineering
- Chartered or working towards it
- Strong technical knowledge withing the bridges and rail sector
- Demonstrable experience of producing a high quality written output, both in your own work and the checking of the other's
