  • Research, develop and apply new techniques and technologies for obtaining and analysing asset data
  • Understand, support and influence clients, prepare and review reports, give presentations and author guidance for publication.

Candidate Specification
The role would suit someone who wants to apply and develop their existing civil/structural engineering skills to help asset owners make decisions about how they should manage a wide range of structure types. You will also have/be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in the inspection, investigation, monitoring and assessment of civil engineering structures, an understanding of how they perform, deteriorate, and fail and how they can be protected, maintained, and repaired
  • An interest in getting out on site to see a range of structures in different environments
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build professional relationships with clients, peers, and other organisations
  • A full UK driving licence and can travel with occasional night-time and/or weekend working

Ideally you will also have:
  • Good problem-solving attributes and you enjoy learning new things (expanding your existing knowledge and applying this in new areas) and taking on new responsibilities
  • An interest in the use of emerging technologies for asset data collection and analysis and are flexible with the vision to provide high quality outcomes for our various clients
  • High standard of written and verbal communication with the ability to write technical reports and proposals as well as give presentations to various audiences
  • Any experience or interest in developing asset management plans and strategies for individual assets or groups of assets will be beneficial as would experience in applied research, development, and the use of technology to gather and analyse data
  • It would be beneficial if you have worked with asset data to create models and practical tools for asset management and decision-making processes
