A well-known and highly regarded multi-disciplinary national engineering consultancy are looking to appoint an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join their Roads team in Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing major infrastructure and highway schemes
  • Liasing with clients, contractors, and other designers
  • Developing and mentoring less experienced team members
  • Attending design meetings, site meetings, and carrying out site inspections
  • Working on projects with consideration to the agreed project budgetary limits and timescales
  • Liasing with statutory bodies

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree or masters level qualification in a Civil Engineering discipline
  • Working towards Chartered Status of an appropriate professional institution e.g. MICE, MCIHT
  • Be technically competent in the use of the UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
  • Be technically competent in the use of Bentley MX and/or Civils3D highway design software
  • Experience using and creating 3D models for use in BIM desirable but not essential
  • Experience in the use of other software packages such as WinDes, KeySign/Post, RRRAP)
  • Demonstrate delivery of various design projects within a multi-disciplinary design team
