We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join our @one team delivering capital projects across the Anglian Water region.

The Principal Infrastructure Engineer will hold all the responsibilities of Lead Infrastructure Engineer such as providing design support for numerous infrastructure schemes, ensuring all designs meet the current legislation and standards. As well as collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure high quality, timely and cost-effective designs and process are followed. They will also look to develop innovative methods that can used as a 'standard product' to promote both self-learning and design appreciation. The role will be working in collaboration with other stakeholders throughout the business to drive continuous developments in engineering, design, and innovation.

Principal Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for managing all lead Engineers within the discipline, they are there to provide professional support, career management and personnel management to the team. They will monitor the technical health of the discipline and take responsibility for developing its engineers and procedures where appropriate. Part of your role will involve but not limited to:

Act as a focal point for any queries, innovations or coordination related to the infrastructure discipline.

Delegate tasks and responsibilities to Lead Engineers as appropriate and Delegate tasks and responsibilities to Discipline Engineers

Chair regular discipline meetings to promote team engagement

Identify training requirements and support to discipline Engineers including apprentices and graduates.

Strive to improve ways of working and promote innovation

Identify opportunities that may facilitate cost savings, carbon reductions or other efficiencies.

Undertake site visits when appropriate

Champion excellence in Health and Safety in design

Review all drawings to ensure @one quality, safety, and technical standards are adhered to.

Review all project design calculations and ensure they have been completed by all project teams.

Liaise with Assurance Lead Engineers at all key project milestones.

Lead and coordinate key milestone design review meetings with Infrastructure Engineers and Technical Managers.

Attend and input into CDM and commissioning strategy meetings.

Manage quality through the BIM360 workflow review in line with the project timeline

Work with the Design Managers (Engineering and Infrastructure) and the Engineering Innovation team to develop new digital tools and design procedures.

Little bit about your skills, experience, and behaviours….

Skills: For this role you will be able to have a good understanding of a construction team interface and coordination. You'll hold strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder, management skills and strong IT skills. Paired with proven problem-solving capability and a good understanding of pipe materials and applications.

Experience: You will have a significant experience as a senior discipline engineer and design experience of sewerage systems, trunk water mains & pressurised and gravity sewerage systems. Including having had experience with civils and hydraulic design including pumpstations, slabs, pipe protection, piling, RC design, and open channel/pipe hydraulics. We are looking for someone who has a detailed technical and inter- related engineering disciplines knowledge
