Civil Structure Engineering
Civil Structure Engineer - £450 per day inside ir35 - 12 months (extension likely) - Hybrid - North London - one stage virtual interview - ASAP start available - Sector: Green technology and raw materials.
Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a civil structure engineer to work with a global leader in green technology and manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity to make initial scope of work and Basis of Design for a diverse range of projects for major engineering projects and programmes of work circa £100M in portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Undertake initial technical review of designs and construction document such as calculation, drawings and reports undertaken by contractors or other consultants.
Work closely with the Group Engineering Technical Authority in creating, managing, and updating discipline specific risk register and provide regular input to overall asset risk register.
Support the operational risk assessment process with a focus on risks requiring CAPEX projects to resolve.
Manage integrity risk on site by maintaining an asset integrity threat list / regular report which will define remedial work and/or projects.
Drive continuous improvement of civil structural related scopes by proposing CAPEX projects to close risk gaps or by realising opportunities such as continuous improvement initiatives.
Support development of CAPEX project scopes to maintain the aging civil structural infrastructure on site.
Respond to project technical queries and scope change assessments within discipline for projects.
Identify the appropriate application of Industry engineering codes, standards, practices, and design guides for CAPEX projects.
Core Skills:
Minimum 7 years' experience working as a Civil/structural Engineer.
Experience of inspection and assessment of steel and concrete structure
Experience in design of all Civil Structural engineering material.
Experience in civil structural surveys and inspection and reporting
Ability to review technical report and ensure that they comply with the company standards, Eurocode, or other legislations.
Ability to classify and assess structural defects, identify possible root cause(s) and produce technical report with recommendations.
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with Eurocode and British Standard
Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers.
Experience of working in Chemical manufacturing or life Science sector
Experience managing an inspection team or setting inspection priorities.
Experience working with EPC contractors is desirable
