Quantity Surveyor - Ground Works/Civil Engineering

£45,000 - £65,000
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with expertise in ground works and civil engineering to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project cost control, including cost estimation, budget preparation, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage project budgets and cost estimates
- Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare and submit valuations and claims
- Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and risks
- Manage change orders and variations to contracts
- Provide advice on procurement and contractual matters
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ground works and civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Membership of professional organizations such as RICS or CIOB is desirable
