BASIC SALARY: £40,000 - £50,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Structural Engineer, Civil Structural Engineer, Structural Steel
Initially managing a team of 2 draughts persons, you'll be responsible for improving the design process and efficiencies of our small, but very busy design office. You will be responsible for creating your own calculation packs for our market leading crane and hoist systems, while driving continuous improvement across the design teams work flow. This is a vital role as you'll act as the primary approver for all Structural calculations and this will have an impact across the business as a whole by way of driving continuous improvement and increases in productivity. This is an opportunity for you to take complete ownership of the design office and truly make your mark.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Structural Engineer, Civil Structural Engineer, Structural Steel
You will:
Use your Structural knowledge to help improve the Design process and make us more efficient.
Be the Primary approver for all the Structural calculations.
Manage a team of 2 and run the Design office.
Carry out UK-wide site visits to clients to establish their needs.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Structural Engineer, Civil Structural Engineer, Structural Steel
You MUST be qualified to degree level or equivalent in Structural Engineering or related field.
You MUST be able to create detailed calculation packs and also have CAD systems experience to design 2D & 3D Parts and assemblies (Solidworksand / or Tekla is preferred although not essential as full training will be provided).
You will have a proven track record in a Structural Steel or a Material Handling environment.
You'll show a strong understanding of steel fabrication & have knowledge and/or experience of the manufacturing process.
You'll also be able to demonstrate great team leading qualities or experience, being either ready to move into a formal management role or already in one.
