Role: Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Croydon (hybrid)
Salary: Up to £55,000 p/a depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with experience on water treatment projects attached to water utility companies?
My client's water collaborates with major water utility companies in the UK including Wessex Water, South West Water, United Utilities, Severn Trent Water and Yorkshire Water providing design expertise over many years on their evolving frameworks to optimise their asset improvements for maximum benefit.
There are positions for clean or wastewater M&E Engineers, as well as engineers with infrastructure or non-infrastructure bias. Candidates must have Water sector experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering from a design standpoint.
The role will encompass co-ordinating cost-effective design and producing civil design documents and drawings taking due account of design calculations and health & safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.
The ideal candidate will have:
·Professional chartership.
·A thorough knowledge of water and sewage treatment and sector experience.
·Relevant Engineering degree or HND.
·Ability to think clearly under pressure.
·Good negotiation skills.
·Good interpersonal skills.
·Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic M&E designs.
·Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment, e.g. mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and project management.
·A technical and flexible mind, with the ability to assimilate large amounts of different data at one time.
·Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently and convincingly.
·Computer literacy.
