Senior Environmental Engineer

A building design and engineering consultancy are seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join their sustainability team in St Albans to work as part of a wider engineering team providing environmental and building physics expertise.

Qualifications and experience

* Degree in mechanical (building services) engineering

* Minimum 5 years' experience in use of Integrated Environmental Services (IES)

* Thermal modelling and Part L calculations

* EPC production

* Energy Assessor Level 5 DSM with IES

* Low Carbon Consultant (preferential but not essential)

* SAP Assessor (preferential but not essential)

* CIBSE TM54 modelling

* Daylight modelling

* BREEAM literate

* Schools or other naturally ventilated buildings

* London Plan

* Knowledge of Building Bulletins

* NES specification writing (preferential but not essential)

Job Description

The engineer will be required to take the lead as Senior Environmental Engineer with day to day IES modelling to include:

* Part L analysis

* CIBSE calculations

* Daylight calculations to demonstrate compliance with DfE CBDM criteria.

* CIBSE TM54 energy modelling to demonstrate compliance with DfE requirements.

* Writing energy statements compliant with London Plan for new developments

* Discharging of energy related planning conditions

* Natural ventilation calculations to demonstrate compliance with CIBSE TM52 and DfE criteria.
