A great opportunity for a Preconstruction Engineer has opened up in our Sales and Estimating team, based at our Head Office in Tamworth. The Preconstruction Engineer will also work closely with PCE's in-house Design team.
PCE is the market leader in precast concrete and hybrid structures, based on the principles of design for manufacture and assembly, DfMA.

Contract: Permanent, Full time
Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire (Head Office)

Essential requirements for the role:
• FEA modelling proficiency
Desirable requirements for the role:
• Scia Engineer FEA modelling knowledge, experience and expertise
Responsibilities:
Review and develop technical proposals at tender stage inclusive of the following -
Structural Engineering Appraisal of existing designs
PCE Options appraisal and development
PCE Systems integration
Hybrid/Bespoke Solutions/Systems
Structural Engineering Activities would typically be summarised as follows
Stability Analysis
Element sizing - concrete, steel, timber, composite
Robustness/Connections
Review of Building Interfaces/systems integration
Typical Reinforcement densities
Temporary Works
Fabrication Methodologies
Management and Coordination of External Designers we use/support us at tender stage
Technical/Engineering link between Tendering & Preconstruction & Detailed Design
Support the ongoing development of PCE Systems
This role may also provide the opportunity to -
Support PCE Digital Strategy from a Design Engineering Perspective
Technical support PCE innovation Strategy
Technical Presentation of PCE Systems to wider market (particularly Architect and Engineering Focussed)
