We are working with an established civil engineering business to recruit a Planner to join their team on a range of long term projects in Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset and Devon.

The company has been established on the South Coast for over 50 years and they work on a mixture of framework opportunities, repeat negotiated business as well as long term AMP arrangements. The markets they work in are civil engineering, clean and dirty water, infrastructure, M&E and process on refurb, new build and maintenance works.

The projects are part of the latest AMP framework and cover multiple schemes from £2 to £25 million on general civils works including RC works, structures, drainage, power and renewable technologies and MEP works on a range of different NEC forms of contract.

Your role is to successfully manage the programming and implementation of the the schemes working alongside the preconstruction, commercial and delivery teams until handover and final account.

You will normally get involved with the schemes at tender/bid stages and be expected to assist and review with the estimator and bid teams and iron out any potential issues and help plan and implement a successful and profitable bid. You will be responsible for then programming short and longer term works, assist in procuring the sub contract packages, arranging pre-start meetings then checking and evaluating each package and managing the day to day site planning activities, assist in adhering and managing the contract including issuing early warning notices, helping managing variation accounts, claims preparation etc.

You will also work closely with the site delivery team - PM and SM and report directly to the Regional Director.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is confident enough to run their own schemes from start to finish ideally from a civil engineering background with NEC experience but that can be small family business to a Tier 1 national.
