About The Role
Milestone Infrastructure is the UKs leading Highways Maintenance company looking after in excess of 24,000 miles of roads, 280,000 lighting assets and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with minimal impact to local communities.
In line with our ambitious plans for growth we are delighted to offer a number of Graduate Civil Engineers across our business. One of the key roles we are looking to recruit is for is our team based in Ipswich.
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will be working in conjunction with the site team to ensure that construction is carried out accurately, quality is maintained, records are kept, abortive or defective work is avoided, and that satisfactory progress is achieved.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Work as a member of one of our design and construction teams within our partnership contract delivering highways and structures projects for number of contracts within Milestone Infrastructure.
Work closely with project managers, our commercial and construction teams to plan and implement these schemes from ‘start to finish' within budget and to programme, and in compliance with quality, safety and environmental objectives
Plan and undertake site visits, surveys and investigations
Prepare scheme designs, drawings and documents using a range of design software
Assist in supervising the construction of our highways/structures projects
Ensure that relevant standards are applied in accordance with national & local criteria and sound engineering practice, to deliver best value solutions which meet client objectives
Review how innovations can be incorporated into our schemes to work towards our carbon reduction plan
If placed with our bridges team, undertake inspections and structural assessments to help maintain the safety of the county's bridges
Assist with consultation with the public and other stakeholders affected by our projects
Work towards Chartered Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers under the Company Accredited ICE Training Scheme, maintaining training records and completing regular development reports
Actively participate in the company graduate development programme activities
