We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer. The successful candidate will join a fantastic employer and will work on a broad range of exciting design and installation projects. The Structural Manager's role will be to work on high-profile/challenging projects and develop our team.

Candidates are expected to contribute to the development and execution of projects, both in the UK and internationally, as well as supporting the growth of the business. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.

The Role.
  • Undertaking structural engineering analysis and design
  • Leading the design of small to medium sized projects or sections of larger projects to achieve the client's objectives to cost and programme.
  • Attendance at design teams meeting and workshops.
  • Production of design calculations in accordance with relevant codes of practice
  • Carrying out internal design reviews
  • Gathering of information, carrying out surveys & research.
  • Review and comment on contractor calculations, method statements and drawings
  • Writing of specifications, tender/construction documents and reports
  • Mentoring, supervising, and aiding graduate engineers and student placements.
  • Working with CAD Technicians to produce relevant structural information.

The ideal candidate.
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Minimum 2:1)
  • Achieved or working to achieve Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE)
  • Experience in the design of structures using conventional engineering materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry). Knowledge of other materials such as aluminium, glass, GRP etc would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience of designing to the Eurocodes and British Standards. Knowledge of American codes and Seismic design would also be beneficial but not essential.
  • Have worked with high profile architects (i.e., Populous, Grimshaw, Wilkinson Eyre etc.)
  • Have good relevant IT/Software skills, preferably with Robot, Grasshopper, Rhino experience.
  • Good verbal, written and numerical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Team player with a positive, 'can do' attitude.
