Structural Engineer

ExperiencedStructural Engineer, MINIMUM of 3 Years work experience working on small to medium sized projects. To work in a small friendly but hard working engineering consultancy practice covering both Civil and Structural Engineering works.

The right person will be able to work independently with a view to growingown structuralteam. Own clients and work would be good but not essential.

The type of projects vary in size from domestic extensions etc up-to approx £5m, with the type of work including domestic, education, industrial, residential, retail & leisure projects.

Rolewill require

• Technical independence within the field of structuralengineering design.
• Preparation of structural designs by hand and computer
• Preparation and compilation of calculations, managing of projects with site attendance, design team meetings etc as required.
• Fully conversant with our industry standard design software packages
• The use of the Microsoft Office Suite of software, including Excel.
• Experience liaising with both internal and external bodies
• Production of CAD drawings
• Experience liaising with other consultants such as architects, planners, project managers and directly with Clients.
• Excellent communicator, both written and oral, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different circumstances
• Track record of building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
• A self-starter with drive, positivity and enthusiasm and a strong desire to succeed.
• Good commercial awareness with effective influencing and negotiating skills, as well as an aptitude to develop emerging and new client relationships.
• A visible and participative technical lead, willing and able to take responsibility for the technical solutions for projects.
• To be able to drive and have use of own car.
