My client is looking for an individual ready to kick-start their career in the geo-environmental industry to join their team. Upon joining them, you will:
Discover the fundamentals of the geo-environmental industry, including contaminated land risk assessment and geotechnical design;
Become part of a close-knit and dynamic team focused on delivering excellent results for clients;
Be given the chance to learn and develop professionally in a practical, hands-on manner in both the office and their sites across the UK; and
Participate in a variety of challenging and innovative projects across residential, commercial and civil engineering industries, including having opportunities to manage projects through the entire life-cycle of a construction programme.
Person specifications:
A degree in Geology or related subject, ideally with practical modules encompassing field work;
A full, clean Driving License;
Based within an easily commutable distance to Manchester City Centre office
Willing to develop their proficiency in fieldwork techniques, production and management of data and both factual and interpretative reporting; and
Able to apply a commercial appraisal to projects, ensuring that value for money is paramount in all work undertaken.
Job responsibilities include:
Co-ordination, supervision and management of ground investigations, including Phase 1 (desk-top) studies, Phase 2 (intrusive) investigations and subsequent monitoring and remediation works;
Ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are followed during all field work practices;
Accurate and precise recording of fieldwork data, and clear, concise presentation of such data;
Liaising with clients, subcontractors and staff in both office and field settings;
Preparing client reports, including environmental risk assessments, remedial recommendations, foundation recommendations and coal mining risk assessments; and
Assisting senior staff with preparations of reports, drawings, models and fee proposals.
Salary and benefits:
Salary: £20,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
