Project Engineer (Structural) - Thermal Power Plant

Project Engineer (Structural) sought by London based Developer, Owner and Operator of grid balancing assets in battery storage, gas peaking, pumped hydro and hydrogen. Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for delivering the project engineering of a fleet of utility scale hydrogen ready gas peaking and energy storage projects.

Initially your focus would be on a 570MW hybrid battery and thermal project east of London.

Responsibilities:
  • Design Co-ordination of structural engineering packages
  • Document Control for structural engineering packages
  • Communicating Design Information between Contractors and to Site Team for one or more projects
  • Design Development of future projects
  • Undertaking an Owners Engineer role from a civil, structural and architectural (CSA) point of view, providing review of CSA design work undertaken by contractors for both their own and other projects constructed by the team
  • Representing the company in meetings with designers, suppliers and others on site teams

About you:
  • MEng in Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • 5-10 years within an EPC or energy generation environment (gas peaking plants, energy storage, wind, solar) supporting construction projects

Useful additional skills:
  • Knowledge of gas peaking plant construction
  • Ability to liaise with DNOs and National Grid to manage and optimise the design and delivery of grid connection offers
  • AutoCAD 2D
  • 3D CAD Design

They offer generous remuneration including up to 30% performance bonus, hybrid working consisting of typically 2-3 days in Central London, 1-2 days a week on site and 1-2 days a week home office.
