Are you an experienced structural engineer with a keen interest in architecture and design? then this might be the position for you!
What you'll be doing and why you'll be doing it
Collaborating closely with the other structural engineers and architects, you will take responsibility for the production of drawings and designs for a range of exciting projects. This will include undertaking structural analysis using GSA, and using AutoCAD. You will help to solve complex structural problems, explore the limits of construction materials in order to provide the most cost effective and environmentally conscious solutions.
As the team is growing, you must be motivated to join a small office environment and willing to contribute to expand it.
Day to day:
*
Complete design of structural elements in different materials.
*
Develop structural designs in concrete, steel, timber and glass.
*
Represent the company externally at design team meetings and site meetings.
*
Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines.
*
Conduct site visits and structural investigations.
*
Prepare reports, presentations and site reports.
*
Maintain up to date technical knowledge.
Where you'll be doing it
Our client is a creative, forward-thinking firm based in London. With a small team they work on a variety of exciting projects in the commercial, private and public sectors, ranging from bespoke private commissions to larger scale building and facade projects.
What you need
*
Bachelor or Masters degree in structural engineering.
*
2 to 5 years project experience in structural engineering consultancy.
*
Graduate member of a professional institution IStructE or ICE.
*
Strong analytical skills and experience of a range of software.
*
Undertake structural analysis using GSA, Tekla and others.
*
Working knowledge of BS/EN standards.
*
Prepare drawings using AutoCAD.
