Job Title: Principal Structural Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Central Scotland

Salary: £55-60 Per Hour (6 Month Rolling Contract) + Work from home 100%

We are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our reputable engineering firm based in central Scotland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and leading a small team of structural engineers, delivering high-quality engineering solutions for nuclear whilst ensuring compliance is met with industry standards.

The ideal candidate will:

Hold UK citizenship.
Have obtained full Chartership with a recognised institution.
Have experience working within the nuclear industry or other relevant highly regulated sectors.
Have excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

Oversee structural engineering tasks and lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Ensure that all work is delivered to meet regulatory, quality and client requirements and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
Proactively manage projects, ensuring that the team provides the required technical solutions to meet the project's objectives, timescales, and budget.
Participate in business development activities to identify opportunities where the consultancy can provide value and contribute to the growth of the business.

Requirements:

Hold a degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Full professional membership of a relevant professional institute.
Proven experience in leading and delivering complex structural engineering projects in the nuclear or highly regulated sector.
A good understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations Strong problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
