This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Civil Engineer to join the Birmingham Office to work on the design of some of the most exciting civil engineering design projects. The business takes pride in operating as one global company and the collaborative approach across all the offices (6 UK offices and 15 global offices) means there are huge opportunities to not only work on exciting projects throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands but across Europe, the UK and Worldwide.
As part of the growing team in Birmingham you will be involved in a range of projects from the redevelopment of Walsall town centre and tall buildings throughout Birmingham city centre to the creation of new schools and supporting the forthcoming energy revolution in the UK.
You will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines across projects from initial feasibility through to delivery on site. You will prepare preliminary and detailed engineering calculations, and assist with specifications, scheme designs and project reports.
You'll have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and with an accredited professional development programme from the ICE, you'll be supported towards Chartership.

Experience you ideally have:
·Accredited with, a degree in Civil Engineering (minimum BEng or equivalent), you will have gained strong practical experience in a Civil Engineering role within a design consultancy environment and should be working towards or recently gained professional qualification with the ICE (I Eng Status or above).
·You should have relevant experience in civil design engineering for the built environment, including hydraulics and geotechnics, and crucially have a passion for creative, intuitive, and sustainable design and have relevant experience in civil design software such as Innovyse MicroDrainage/Infodrainage and AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent.
·Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
·Some of the Key skills will include:
·Ability to work both as part of a team as well as possessing the ability to work independently to solve problems;
·Ability to guide junior members of team to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis and reports;
·Working knowledge of Conceptual Preliminary design and detailed design across a number of disciplines such as flood risk and drainage, highways, earthworks and utilities.
·Experience of undertaking site visits and preparing daily/weekly site reports
·Working knowledge of British Codes of Practice and Specifications
·Working knowledge of Infodrainage / Microdrainage software
·Working Knowledge of AutoCAD Software including Civils 3D and AutoTrack;
·Numerate with excellent data analysis skills. Competency in data analysis packages, such as Excel;
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
