NRL are currently recruiting for a EHS Engineer to work for a global company based in their Cramlington facility.
Our client is a healthcare company who specialise in womens helath. Their pharmaceutical operations are based in Cramlington where they manufacture, package and test a variety of medical products.
This is a contract role for a duration of 1 year plus.
About the role:
Facilitate the integration of design engineering requirements from relevant UK regulations, codes of practice, HSE guidance and British Standards into the process design, process control and asset integrity and equipment reliability.
Support the Engineering Dept. to ensure EHS operational compliance (UK regulations & corporate standards) on engineering projects. This will include participation in:
Risk assessments (COSHH assessment, PHA, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR risk assessment, etc.) as per relevant corporate EHS standards and UK legislation.
Facility & equipment walkdowns.
Action follow-up and closure.
Ensure the process safety management program and the EHS management change program are aligned to ensure that process safety risks arising from changes are identified and addressed adequately.
Collaborate with Product Technical Operations (GTO) to ensure adequate technical knowledge transfer (materials hazards, process knowledge, volumes) to support process safety.Who we are looking for:
Good communication skills, team leadership capabilities and the ability to influence, make decisions.
Pharma sector experience preferred.
Experience of managing risks associated with from substances hazardous to health, combustible dusts, machinery, construction projects and utilities.
Understanding of risk assessment techniques for mechanical and facility safety risks, DSEAR/ATEX and good engineering design practices.
Graduate/post-graduate degree level Science/Engineering qualification and/or an EHS related certification such as Process Safety and/or Risk Management.
