As a Graduate Geo environmental Engineer you will be joining an established consultancy with a strong track record of working in partnership with their clients to provide creative and cost effective solutions to some of the most challenging development sites. The successful Graduate Geo environmental Engineer will be working with a highly-regarded team of specialists providing consultancy services across the UK in contaminated land assessment and remediation, ground engineering and environmental monitoring .
The Role:
The successful candidate will be working underneath the Senior Geo environmental Engineer, being an assistant project manager, starting from the preliminary site walkovers; Phase I desk studies all the way through to completion of the projects, as well as growing your skills and experience.
Duties Include:
Review of Phase 1 land stability and contaminated land desk studies
Field sampling and monitoring of soils, gas and groundwater
Phase 2 geo-environmental reports/geotechnical investigation reports including outline design of foundations, retaining walls and slope stability assessment.
Assisting in Design and optioning for remediation Organising site works, including obtaining services information and organising sub-contractors, plant, equipment and consumables.
Site supervision of Phase II geotechnical and geo environmental investigation and remediation works
Undertaking validation works including site monitoring and sampling, gas and groundwater monitoring
Preparation of borehole logs on Holebase SI Input into Environmental Statements and writing of ES Chapters
The Candidate:
The successful individual will hold a BSc in a relevant discipline and have a strong Geo-Environmental experience served in a similar environment.
In addition, the candidate must have:
A high level of understanding of delivery of infrastructure or contaminated land remediation schemes
Understanding of geotechnical principles and soil structure interaction Be literate in settlement and slope stability analysis software
The ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders is essential as part of our collaborative, multi-disciplinary offering.
