A well-known and highly regarded multi-disciplinary national engineering consultancy are looking to appoint an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join their Roads team in Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing major infrastructure and highway schemes
Liasing with clients, contractors, and other designers
Developing and mentoring less experienced team members
Attending design meetings, site meetings, and carrying out site inspections
Working on projects with consideration to the agreed project budgetary limits and timescales
Liasing with statutory bodies
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or masters level qualification in a Civil Engineering discipline
Working towards Chartered Status of an appropriate professional institution e.g. MICE, MCIHT
Be technically competent in the use of the UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
Be technically competent in the use of Bentley MX and/or Civils3D highway design software
Experience using and creating 3D models for use in BIM desirable but not essential
Experience in the use of other software packages such as WinDes, KeySign/Post, RRRAP)
Demonstrate delivery of various design projects within a multi-disciplinary design team
