Head of Deliver for Zero (Corporates)
This role sits within our Corporates sector which works with companies across all industries including manufacturers and distributors with energy intensive processes and retailers with extensive supply chains.
Our Deliver for zero service acts on clients' net zero strategic aspirations, breaking them down into implementable carbon/energy action plans and projects. You work directly with clients to turn their aims into a reality through site audits, monitoring and proposing short-term data solutions to optimise efficiency.
As Senior Consultant you deliver a range of profitable energy, water and carbon management consultancy services to Verco's corporate clients with a focus on manufacturing and industry. These services include onsite deep dive assessments, development of net zero pathways, group programme support, development of successful metering and monitoring projects and supporting the implementation of Verco's data and software solutions such as Reduct and Carbon Desktop™.
Project Management: You manage a range of energy and water reduction projects concurrently, ensuring successful delivery to the client on time, to quality and within an agreed budget.
Technical input: You provide technical input to projects and lead the delivery of energy and water reduction audits at manufacturing and industrial sites. Working with these sites, you develop metering and data collection solutions supported by Verco's proprietary software.
Business development and proposal writing: You develop business either by increasing the value of existing accounts or by supporting more senior members of the team in targeted business development activities such as writing proposals and/or delivering technical webinars.
Client management: You maintain strong relationships with existing clients and build lasting relationships with new clients with the expectation of maintaining and, where possible, increasing revenues from key accounts.
Operational: You provide timely responses to operational needs including (but not limited to) invoicing, reviews, project management information, time-sheeting, health & safety, etc. As a senior consultant there will also be an expectation to share knowledge to support the development of junior team members.
Environmental: contributing to Verco's sustainability targets and internal CSR team objectives when required.
Masters or relevant post-graduate qualification, Chartered Engineer status and membership of professional institution such as IChemE, IMechE and EI.
Experience of managing complex or multi-client projects in a number of the following: - energy management and auditing including onsite deep dive assessments
- development of net zero pathways
- key account management and new business development
- managing bids and delivering proposals to deadlines
- Leading and facilitating workshops/seminars
Commercial experience in securing and negotiating business contracts and supporting others to do the same.
Essential: a sound technical knowledge of energy use in corporates (industry and manufacturing) including:
- Energy use in industrial systems (refrigeration, compressed air, boilers and steam systems)
- Production systems in manufacturing industry
- Metering, Monitoring & Targeting
- Electrical infrastructure & systems
- Process Optimisation
- Heat Recovery Systems
- the policy framework within which our energy clients operate such as CCA, ESOS, EUETS, IPC permits
- Energy use in buildings (Boilers, HVAC, lighting, motors and drives, building management systems)
- Technology design & implementation
- Measurement &verification
- DSR and flexibility
- Renewable energy technology design and implementation
- CHP feasibility & design
High level of competence in the use of IT, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as being a strong communicator; verbal and written.
You will be proactive, with an inquisitive approach
Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
Language skills in particular German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
Other requirements & attributes
A willingness to travel nationally and internationally to implement projects.
Able to present a professional appearance to clients.
