Transportation Program Manager

As the leader of the Town's transportation efforts, this position will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our transportation infrastructure, championing diverse projects, and leading a dedicated team of professionals.

Top Essential Job Functions:

Program Management & Compliance:

• Manage the transportation program, aligning with Town's Strategic Plan.
• Oversee and direct multiple programs like vision zero, complete streets, and active transportation, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal mandates.

Project Oversight & Development:

• Strategize long-term plans for the transportation vertical.
• Administer budgets, oversee capital improvement projects, and engage with land development projects, offering invaluable insights and recommendations.  

Community & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Interface with legal teams, state agencies, and public service bodies for collaborative success.
• Engage and present before boards, commissions, and the Town Council, responding proactively to community inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or a related field. A minimum of eight (8) years of professional engineering experience.
• Hold a valid Driver’s License.
• Possess (or have the ability to obtain within 6 months) a Category A or B South Carolina Professional Engineering license.

Relocation assistance is available for candidates relocating to the area.

This position is exempt (not eligible for overtime) with a salary range of $100,000 - $135,000.  The salary offered will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
