CUNY is embarked on a multi-billion dollar and multi-year Capital Design and Construction Program at its 25 campuses. The Project Office Specialist (POS), as a member of the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Facilities Planning, Construction, and Management (FPCM), plays a vital role in the successful implementation of Capital Construction Programs.
The POS has primary responsibility for the Project Control functions for CUNY’s Capital Construction Program including the overall tracking and reporting on projects and programs performance including schedule and time performance
Exercising independent initiative and judgment and reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Facility Planning, Construction and Management. The POS works collaboratively with numerous stakeholders including Directors, Assistant Directors and Projects Managers and serves as coordinator.
- Preform Programing functions as needed to be able to extract project management information from systems such as PMWEB, People Soft and JD Edwards.
- Perform Project Management functions.
- Update cost and schedule information for all projects that are included in the Design and Construction Program.
- Analyze budget performance for all projects including expenditures, actuals and projections.
- Analyze Schedule performance for projects in the construction phase.
- Identify Discrepancies and advise the Project Managers accordingly.
- Develop best practices for project execution and management.
- Frequently update the CUNY Project Management System on the status of projects in relation to financial information, project schedule, progress report.
- Prepare regular project management reports to inform decisions by senior FPCM staff.
- Regularly coordinate with all project Managers and Assistant Directors to provide and receive information so that all of our reports and the PMWEB system are updated.
- Work with other partnering organizations to extract and exchange Project Management information electronically.
- Work with the team to design, deliver and maintain web-based and desktop applications to help support Project Management needs using C#. MVC & Net Core.
- Connect local application/database with other entities.
- Coordinate with in-house and external vendors the programing and integration of different Project Management Systems.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural, Computer Sciences or another related field.
- 5+ years of design and construction management experience and /or programing and report production.
- Experience in project management methodologies, planning, cost control, cost lifecycle analyses and project financial management.
- Experience with overall Program Management.
- Experience developing and maintaining Web API.
- Experience using C#. MVC & Net Core.
- PMP Certification.
- Experience with New York State and/or New York City design and construction projects.
- Demonstrated project managements skills.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, databases, project management and presentation packages.
- Strong command on Excel, Macros and Pivot tables.
- BizTalk Certification
- C#.Net Specialist
- Experience designing, building, and operating enterprise grade applications.
