Teaching Faculty Position In Structural Engineering
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The George Washington University (GW) invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time teaching faculty position, beginning as early as Fall 2024. The appointment will be made at the Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor (or Professor of Practice) rank depending on the candidate’s experience.
The Department is seeking outstanding candidates with expertise in structural engineering/mechanics who can teach courses in structural mechanics, structural analysis, and structural design.
An initial 3-year appointment will be offered in accordance with the University’s Faculty Code. Teaching faculty typically teach two to three courses per semester with teaching assistant support in the lower division Civil and Environmental Engineering courses. Teach courses in structural mechanics, structural analysis, and structural design. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, the new faculty is expected to be committed to educational innovation, curriculum development, and pedagogy, to actively engage and contribute to the advising of undergraduate students and to serve on relevant department and school committees. Research and/or service responsibilities will be assigned as appropriate based on the faculty member’s interests and department’s needs.
