O&M Engineer - Utility Scale Renewable Energy - South Wales - circa £45,000 BOE + company vehicle + SAP Qualification training
This is a great opportunity for a O&M engineer looking to break into the renewable energy sector.
You'll work with a well-established European energy firm with a strong UK team, focussed on large scale solar PV and battery energy storage projects.
Their portfolio of managed projects is rapidly growing and are developing a 1GW pipeline of energy storage and PV assets. The company's agile and nimble in the UK but is backed by a highly reputable German asset management and O&M provider.
It is crucial to have had experience as an operations & maintenance engineer in the renewable sector for minimum 3 years. Good dexterity and confidence on using basic electrical equipment such as crimping cable terminations and use of multi-meters and insulation testers is required.

The role
- Installation of Cabling and modules on the arrays
- Terminate cables and connectors at, DC and AC distribution boxes.
- Install cabling on monitoring and communication equipment (data logger, routers, sensors, etc.).
- Fault identification on electrical components by means professional site measurement activities (thermal imaging, insulation tester, etc.) providing detail into reports and ticketing systems.
- Engage and manage subcontractors and the site management.
- Have experience working with electricians and be able to assist and supervise.
- Have Understand Health & Safety standards and Regulations.
About you
- At least three years' working experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems for industrial sites.
- PV or BESS experience desirable.
- Have an understanding of Microsoft Office and phone/tablet document reporting structures.
- Have Understand Health & Safety standards and Regulations.
- Hold a Level 1- 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Hold a vocational qualification (NVQ LV3) in the electrical industry.
- Have National Electrotechnical Training (NET) AM2 certificate.
- Hold a ECS Electrician Gold Card or in the process of obtaining (We can assist)
- Hold a site safety certificate (CSCS or ECS or equivalent) we can also provide this training.
