Reporting to: Environmental & Technical Regulatory Manager

Type: Permanent

Location: Uxbridge

Parkside Recruitment are currently looking for an Environmental & Technical Regulatory Engineer.

Role:

Environmental and Technical Regulatory Engineer carries out numerous activities relating to Environmental legislation and technical specifications.

Duties:

Research the following, in UK and EU regulations/directives:

Report the latest information and the way to deal with them in relationship to MHI products in the following area:
  • Chemical Substance Regulations and enforcement action by National Government, mainly relating to WEEE, RoHS, REACH, Waste Packaging.
  • HVACR Regulation and Enforcement action by National Government relating to F-Gas, Eco-design, Energy Labelling, and Energy Efficiency (EPBD).
  • LVD, PED, MD, EMC Directives for the affix of CE, UKCA markings, and other enforcement action by National Government.
  • Work alongside associations relating to environmental legislation, compliance requirements affecting the HVACR industry.

Attending and reporting on all relevant meetings and events:
  • JBCE Association (Japan Business Council in Europe): Air-Conditioning WG (Working Group), Environment & Energy Committee, REACH WG, RoHS IG (Issue Group), Eco-design & Energy Labelling IG.
  • EPEE Association (European Partnership for Energy and the Environment): Eco-design WG, F-Gas WG, Energy Efficiency WG, and all related Task Forces.
  • EUROVENT Compliance committee.
  • FETA Association Federation of Environmental Trade Associations): HPA (Heat Pump Association) and HEVAC Group (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning)
  • Attend and report on EU Commission / UK Government Stakeholders meetings / workshops and Consultation Forum meetings.
  • Report on the exchange of information with Business Partners and Distributors in each Territory (EU, UK, CIS) on National Legislation, Subsidies & Incentive schemes.
  • Support Business Partners and Distributors in their application and registration of products in software/databases.
  • Support Business Partners and Distributors in the application and registration of products for Product Certifications issued by Notified Bodies.
  • Pre-Sales technical support to Business Partners and Distributors.
  • Visit Business Partners and Distributors offices.
  • Survey the local market information for new products development/deployment.
  • Introduction of new products highlighting features and benefits
  • Be required to go on small business trips in Europe.

Relevant Qualifications and Experience:
  • Equivalent or Degree in Engineering
  • Understanding of heat pump cycle
  • Knowledge of EU & UK Environmental regulations and standard, relating to the HVACR Industry.
  • Attending and contributing to lobbying activities.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English.
