The Opportunity

Across the UK and in particular in Scotland we are helping clients deliver many pumped storage hydroelectric projects - to help the country on it's journey to Net Zero. Within our North sub-region we have a team of 100+ multi-disciplinary engineers working together on a wide variety of energy infrastructure projects.

We are seeking civil/structural engineers, ideally located in either Glasgow or Edinburgh, to help deliver a diverse range of projects within our major client portfolios. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about technical excellence and providing an outstanding service to our clients.

We are looking for a Civil / Structural engineer with curiosity, personal drive, and technical know-how. We welcome all applicants from a Water/Power Engineering background with experience in the design of water carrying structural elements of hydro power stations. 

Is this role right for you?

We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:
  • MEng or MSc level degree in Civil Engineering or related subject / Working towards Chartered Civil Engineer, Chartered Structural Engineer, or equivalent status.
  • Relevant experience in the technical design of civil structural elements, ideally in hydraulic structures, dams, water schemes/frameworks, with a preference for experience in energy projects.
  • Experience of the application Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Appreciation and understanding of geotechnical and hydraulic design principles and in the dynamic loading of structures.
  • Proficiency in the use of structural design software for finite element analysis of concrete structures.
