The Opportunity
Within our North sub-region we have a team of 100+ multi-disciplinary engineers working together on a wide variety of energy and water infrastructure projects.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join and support the Energy, Water and Resources group in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices. This is an opportunity to join our team and unlock the delivery of technical solutions across a wide range of civil engineering projects.
We are looking for a Civil Structural engineer with curiosity, personal drive and strong technical / engineering skills.
The ideal candidate will technically guide and manage projects and / or work packages within projects within our Energy Water and Resources engineering team. Responsibilities will range from design activities to project management tasks, including; Technical delivery of civil / structural engineering designs, calculations, models, reports and drawings; Delivery of project work from early masterplanning and concept stages through to detailed design and construction support activities; Project design management and delivery, including ensuring high quality technical design and reporting; Project commercial management including monitoring progress and costs against programme and budget; Team planning and resourcing requirements and management of deliverables through active collaboration with supporting disciplines.
As a senior engineer within an established and growing team, you will be expected to support others within the team both through technical collaboration as well as mentoring and developing less experienced members of the team. Support will be provided to enable you to fulfil this role.

Is this role right for you?
We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:
- MEng or MSc level degree in Civil Engineering or related subject / Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE) or Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE) Status.
- Knowledge and previous experience in the design and/or construction of civil/structural engineering solutions with a preference towards experience on energy and / or water related projects.
- Experience of the application Eurocodes and British Standards.
- A desire to work on the design and construction of civil engineering infrastructure across energy and water related projects is essential. Applicants with transferable experience from infrastructure projects in other sectors are also encouraged to apply.
- Competence in interrogation of 3D Models of Civil Engineering projects, using industry-recognized software system e.g. Civil 3D, Revit or equivalent.
- Experience in commercial / project management of design projects, including tasks such as developing bids, preparing fee proposals, creating design delivery programmes, monitoring progress and costs on projects.
