The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Civil Structural / Bridge Engineer to join our vibrant and engaging team based in our North-West and Yorkshire Geography. Please note that the location could be any office within the geography Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, or Leeds. They will be leading projects or technical components of projects.
Our current project portfolio is varied, exciting and often high profile, operating within the fields of Transportation (Rail and Road), Water, Energy, and Site development among many others. We work across all phases of projects from advisory, concept, through to detailed design and construction supervision. We deliver projects for a whole host of clients and organisations including government agencies (both national and local), local authorities, private developers and contractors.
We collaborate on projects across the North of England, the UK and overseas as part of a wide and diverse global organisation and are therefore able to bring in broad expertise as well as providing support to others around the world.
Our current portfolio of projects includes the Transpennine Route Upgrade, infrastructure provision with Sellafield, flood alleviation schemes with the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales, WoodSmith Mine as well as brownfield regeneration projects such as the Victoria North Project in Manchester. In addition to the project work, the ideal candidate would be able to lead, engage and support colleagues from a technical perspective, whilst ensuring that their colleagues and peers are supported and encouraged in their development.

Is this role right for you?
We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:
- Suitable Civil Engineering Degree, Masters or equivalent experience
- Holds a recognised professional qualification, or have experience which is equivalent to gaining a professional qualification. We will support individuals with the correct experience to gain a professional qualification
- Previous experience ideally in Transport/Infrastructure / Water/ Energy and/or Industrial projects.
- A passion for guiding small teams, and coordinating innovative design challenges with other disciplines
- Experience in being responsible for defined parts of design projects and individual projects, including the commercial aspects of these elements / projects.
- Quality assurance in so far as undertaking design, checking of calculations and drawings to ensure high quality deliverables.
