Structural Engineer - Didcot

My client is looking for a new team member to join the current structures teams at their Didcot office. They work on a variety of projects large and small across most sectors including commercial, R&D, energy and residential and continue delivering exciting and interesting projects across the industry. They also work on new build and refurbishment projects.

They work collaboratively with other in-house teams to deliver structural and civil engineering, traffic and transport engineering, building surveying and geomatics and there is a strong and supportive team culture and many exciting projects to work on, which creates an environment for constant technical learning and strong career development.

Some responsibilities include assisting and carrying out structural designs in steel, concrete, masonry and timber and working closely with other members of the team and report to the project director. Developing skills with a view to liaising with clients, project teams and local authorities and with supervision, take responsibility for the technical aspects of projects. You will also develop skills with a view to assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects.

It is essential that you have a degree in Structural Engineering with 4 years post graduate experience. You must have design experience in all common building materials and have an understanding of soil mechanics and foundation design. You must have the ability to prepare structural designs in all conventional materials .
