Are you a talented and driven Civil or Structural Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy? My Client, a reputable firm renowned for delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across various sectors throughout the UK and Ireland are currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join their team and contribute to the detailed design of marine, bridges, and heavy civil engineering works, including the preparation of technical specifications.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design marine structures, bridges, and associated infrastructure for ports and harbours, canal and river engineering projects, and coastal protection works.
  • Prepare complex project specifications
  • Undertake and produce feasibility studies and condition inspection reports.
  • Generate Bills of Quantities to support project requirements.
  • Provide Supervision to technicians in the preparation of detailed scheme drawings.
  • Participate in design team meetings and client consultations.
  • Organize site surveys and investigations to gather essential data.
  • Prepare reports and appraisal studies to provide valuable insights for projects.
  • Create contract documentation and administer construction for assigned projects.
  • Operate procedures in accordance with the company's Quality System.
  • Prepare the designer's input to Health and Safety plans for projects.
  • Utilize other general civil and/or structural engineering skills, as needed, in various sections of the company.

Qualification & Key Skills:
  • Qualification: Honours degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in any of the following fields: civil or structural engineering, heavy civils, marine/harbour, or bridges.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
  • Well-versed in relevant European & British Standards and Codes of Practice, as well as staying updated with recent developments in engineering design and research.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities
  • Good negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • As this role may require travel and short-duration appointments away from home, as well as occasional work during unsociable hours, flexibility and willingness to accommodate such arrangements are essential.
