Due to a healthy forward workload, our client is currently looking to appoint a Structural Engineer with proven experience of structural design on a broad range of projects and materials.
This is a great opportunity for a near Chartered Structural Engineer to join a successful, well established Civil and Structural Design Consultancy based out of their Plymouth Office. You will join a busy and expanding, friendly team in working on a variety of structural engineering projects including retail, housing, leisure, and commercial builds.
You will be working toward chartership status with IStructE / ICE and will be responsible for the preparation, issue, and management of technical project information, including calculations and drawing information, in accordance with the standard requirements of the Company. To have limited responsibility for the technical, financial, and managerial aspects of complete projects as directed by your line manager. To maintain high standards of information presentation and to ensure their accuracy.
Key Responsibilities/Requirements:
Working on projects from inception through to completion stage.
Assisting in the staffing requirements and programme.
Assisting with preparing fee proposals as directed.
Engineering design, project management and time management.
Producing and checking design calculations, drawings etc.
Site inspections and surveys.
Be a confident communicator.
Assisting and mentoring of junior staff.
Qualifications/Experience:
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Working towards Chartered Status with IStructE / ICE.
Proven experience of structural design on a broad range of projects and materials steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
Good report writing skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Work well as part of a team.
Experience and ability to deliver successful projects and developing good working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Experience in the structural design of highway structures would be advantageous.
