Company details:
My client oversees various construction projects throughout the UK, with 30 technical staff in their Hemel Hempstead and Didcot offices. They are currently looking for a new team member for their Hemel Hempstead office, where they work on diverse projects across sectors like commercial, R&D, energy, and residential, including new builds and refurbishments.
They collaborate with in-house teams in structural and civil engineering, traffic and transport engineering, building surveying, and geomatics.
Person specifications:
Design experience in all common building materials.
An understanding of soil mechanics and foundation design.
Be able to professionally represent the Company.
Minimum qualification - degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
An ability to prepare structural designs in all conventional materials
An ability to speak clearly, confidently, professionally and convincingly on the telephone
An ability to write clear and concise e-mails, letters and reports
Job responsibilities:
Assist and carry out structural designs in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
Work closely with other members of the team and report to the project director.
Develop skills with a view to attending meetings and liaising with architects, clients, subcontractors and other professionals whilst carrying out duties and at all times represent the business, in a professional and courteous way.
Develop skills with a view to liaising with clients, project teams and local authorities.
With supervision take responsibility for the technical aspects of projects.
Develop skills with a view to assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects.
Develop skills with a view to making sure the project complies with statutory requirements, especially health and safety.
