Job Title - Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location - Birmingham
Salary - £50,000-£55,000
Overview
Our client is offering a great opportunity to work within their internationally renowned multidisciplinary engineering design consultancy and become a key component within their design team. The role offers a blend of technical analysis, design, fieldwork, and the opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure and construction projects.
Qualifications
A BSc or BEng from a Geology or Engineering background along with a postgraduate degree in a similar field (Meng, MSc, etc.).
Whilst having chartered accreditation (CEng) from a relevant institution isn't required, it would be something desired.
Extensive experience working to a high level within the Geotechnical and Engineering space, with a proven track record.Requirements/Responsibilities
Will have gained prior experience conducting site visits and investigations involving carrying out tests to determine soil properties (strength, density, permeability, and compaction).
Ability to collect and assess soil and rock data in relation to information used for designing foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and ensuring structure stability.
Strong technical skills with the ability to utilise PLAXIS for more detailed modelling projects.
Possess the ability to produce accurate and technically sound written reports on findings from site investigations, analysis, and design recommendations to then be shared with clients and external stakeholders.
Ability to contribute to projects and identify issues as well as produce solutions.
