Senior Structural Engineer
Plymouth
Circa £37,000 - £47,000
Avocet are delighted to be working with a civil & structural consultancy who have exciting opportunities in their Plymouth office.
The company are based across the UK having started in Scotland over 120 years ago, their core values have established them as one of the most reputable civil & structural consulting engineers.
Since opening an office in Plymouth four years ago, the team has grown, taking on some truly unique projects across the South West and further afield in the UK. Consisting of a team of thirteen with a director office lead, there is scope to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer who can grow with the office, and progress to Associate Director - Director level.
Key responsibilities include…
* Leading projects from inception through to completion stage
* Managing the staffing requirements, budget and programme
* Assisting with marketing / winning new work and preparing fee proposals as directed
* Engineering design, project management and time management
* Producing and checking design calculations, drawings etc
* Site inspections and surveys
* Be client facing and a confident communicator
* Providing technical guidance to customers and colleagues
* Assisting and mentoring of junior staff
Who you'll Be…
* Minimum of five years industry experience working within the structures industry
* Ideally chartered, or working toward chartership
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
* Full driving license
* You will have a proven experience of structural design on a broad range of projects and materials steel, concrete, timber and masonry
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal including good report writing skills
* Experience in the structural design of highway structures would be advantageous
* Enthusiasm to help grow the team and office
Benefits…
* Starting salary circa £37,000 £47,000 however this can be negotiable DOE
* 24 days annual leave + 9 bank holidays
