As a Structural Engineer at UKAEA, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing nuclear fusion technology.

Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out site inspections for buildings and plant as necessary.
Reviewing UKAEA records and databases to compile design baseline data.
Performing structural analysis and preparing structural assessment reports using SAP-2000 and Tekla TEDDS.
Engaging with stakeholders to define and document requirements, scope of work, and oversee negotiation of solutions.
Preparing structural design solutions through conceptual to detail design phases for plant, structural equipment, and additional/alteration works.
Reviewing third-party design and analysis documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and UKAEA requirements.
Checking calculations, analyses, and reports generated internally for compliance to standards and following UKAEA verification and validation routines.
Providing technical supervision and mentoring to junior engineers.
Acting as a Technical Reference for the organization in matters relating to specialist knowledge and experience.
Demonstrating excellent communication skills to collaborate with personnel across the organization and fostering effective teamwork.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience Required:
Proficiency in structural engineering analysis and calculations using Eurocodes for Steel and Concrete.
Experience in conducting site inspections and documenting them.
Familiarity with SAP-2000 and Tekla TEDDS or similar engineering software.
Ability to prepare drawings for tender purposes using AutoCAD.
