Location: Oakington, Cambridgeshire
Salary: Up To £45,000 Per Annum
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain the highest standards of integrity in business relationships with clients and colleagues.
Ensure all projects are procured and run in a professional manner to ensure client satisfaction.
Ensure that all projects are completed within timescale, and budget to a high standard.
Under direction of the Head of Structural Engineering, be aware of the financial targets within the team and endeavour to ensure that best efforts are made to achieve this wherever possible.
collaborate with other team members, ensure that the ‘Manager' database is kept up to date with changes to fees or progress of jobs and forward projections.
Provide or input to fee quotations as may be required to assist in bidding for work as requested.
Ensure all documents issued and systems operated to comply with the Ingleton Wood Practice Management and Environmental Management systems.
Promote BIM and 3D design/drawings to ensure that they comply with the Practice's BIM strategy.
Maintain an overview of the work commitments of the team and work with other teams within IW, in collaboration to ensure that best efforts are made to meet project commitments across the Practice.
Assist the Partners in pursuing the business plan by ensuring all the Practice Management systems are operating within the teams, and specifically ensuring that timesheets and invoicing are monitored and that expenditure is reviewed against budgeting.
Attend and contribute to management meetings held within the office as required and assist in the running of the office.
Ensure professional competence through continual professional development.
Be responsible for mentoring and coaching team members as necessary and directed.
Assist in general matters related to client relationship management as may be required.
Engage in continuous development activities, thus responding to constant changes caused by internal and external factors and developments in own job area.
Maintain a position at the leading edge of own structural engineering professional function applying this effectively within the organisation.
Consider your own career development options periodically in conjunction with line managers to make informed choices about possibilities and development needed.
Keep abreast of what colleagues in similar roles in other organisations are doing, networking, and adopting/adapting ideas as appropriate.
Have sufficient knowledge of the broader context in which own professional function is applied to perform effectively in own job area.
Have the ability to develop clear customer service standards and ensure that work to them.
Seek out and listen to the needs/views of a wide range of customers/clients using feedback to improve performance.
Consider implications of customer/client views on business plans and services being provided and modify/recommend changes to these as appropriate.
Understand the dynamics of working within different client sectors (public and private organisations).
Understands the importance of accurate management information and data in providing and monitoring services
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree/master's in Engineering.
Engages in career development and Continuous Professional Development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence individuals at all levels.
Comprehensive knowledge of building construction, Building Regulations, and allied legislation.
Experience of projects with a contract value range of £10k -£5m.
Experience of projects in the Education, Healthcare, and Local Authority sectors.
Ability to make rational, realistic, and sound decisions based on consideration of all the facts and alternatives available.
Draws sound inferences from information available, making use of logic to create and contribute to imaginative solutions.
Ability to adopt a flexible and creative approach, redefining problems in the light of information gathered or changes in context.
Ability to show consideration, concern, and respect for others through listening to opinions.
Ability to cooperate and work well with others in the pursuit of team goals, sharing information, and supporting others.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
