About the role:

Astute's Renewables team is working with a well-respected biogas company who own and operate a portfolio of anaerobic digestion plants. They are looking to recruit a Multiskilled Engineer for their site in Howden.

The Site Engineer is a vital role and will play a pivotal part in helping the site to run efficiently and minimise downtime. The role comes with a starting salary of £37,000 and benefits include a company pension, life insurance, health & wellbeing program, employee discounts and referral program.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Engineering Manage, you will be responsible for:
Planned maintenance tasks and recording corrective actions
Reacting to breakdowns and ensuring a quick response to minimise downtime
Carrying out repairs and maintenance on the plants assets, such as pumps, motors, gearboxes and valves
Be responsible for refurbishments and any new installations and fabrications work
Supervising contractors and ensuring safe systems of work (SSOW)
Completion of timely, accurate paperwork
Be part of an on call rota and occasionally work outside of normal working hours
Other duties as required

Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
A relevant Engineering qualification (electrical or Mechanical) and/or time served experience is essential
A level or equivalent in a STEM subject is desirable
WAMITAB is desirable
SAP qualified is desirable

Personal skills:
The Site Engineer role would suit someone who is:
Experienced working in anaerobic digestion or a similar processing environment
Ability to read and interpret all Engineering Drawings
Computer literate
Able to work at heights
Self-motivated and hardworking
